Farewell Dragalia Lost and Thank you!

I would like to thank CyGames and Nintendo for bring this memorable experience to me.

After the EOS of my previous F2P game that I created content for (i.e. Rage of the Immortals), I honestly haven’t picked up a enjoyment in mobile games in general.
Why didn't I want to play?

At first there were a few reasons why it turned me off from trying DL.

Why didn't I want to play?

  1. Large OTA Update i.e. 4-5 GBs
    • I had a somewhat slow internet and took me several attempt to finish the download
  2. Odd controls being a game mostly played with a virtual joystick
    • Getting use to precise controls on a game that requires Monster Hunter like reflexes
  3. Sudden change in difficult between the story and the end game content
    • Went from being able to auto everything in the story to one shot kills in High Dragon Trials and Agito
  4. It’s a gatcha game
    • Had a bad taste in my experience where content gets gated unless you RNG’ed your way to get the meta character that allowed you to progress

Why did I start playing?

1. My coworker convinced me to give it a try and this being the monster generous F2P game

a. At the time we were also playing Pokemon Go and in fact, I wasn’t really into Pokemon Go until I learned about Raids

2. Megaman Collab event

a. I’m a big megaman fan as you can tell from my avatar so he making an appearance in this game got me hyped

b. Followed by Monster Hunter collab which I had a lot of hours banked

What were the things that made it fun?

1. Co-op

At the beginning end game content can never be solo’ed and relied heavily on proper coordination with your teammate and back then stickers were the only way to do so, otherwise have voice chat with discord

2. F2P Friendly

a. Generosity of CyGames/Nintendo

i. Wyrmites and summoning tickets being handed out for most if not all events

ii. Big rewards during anniversaries and new years

iii. The ability to spark so you don’t dig yourself too deep

3. Obtainability to reach the endgame content while mostly F2P

a. Event compendium allow you to redo previous events and get the summon tickets and wyrmites

b. Even using the story characters and 4* characters had mana spirals that allowed you to use that character for endgame content

4. The community

a. Community content on YouTube, Discord, Reddit

b. Joining streamer play

i. Shoutout to XenoXilius, Taiica, Mechaf, B3NB3N, Lightbringer1985, Colbertplaysgames, Gaming Quitte, Schorhard, Shietz, Belliraxia, SylvrOfficial on stream

ii. Watching them get Pazuzu and Hawk

c. Looking up RaenonX guides

d. DL gg gamepress, dl wiki

5. The Cheese and exploits

a. Karina cheese

b. Gleo cheese

c. Mym Cheese

d. Mitsuba Cheese

6. The Story and graphics

a. Large cast of characters

b. Voice overs

c. Cut scenes and heavy dialogue driven

Big changes that made it a different game?

1. Pre-1.5 days when the Expert and Master of the High Dragon Trials where it literally one shot you, and HP Gate you so you cannot progress unless you memorized the patterns or have the correct combination of characters

2. Grace’s life shield and the introduction of autoing the content

a. Then they made it easier to auto and even auto dragon

3. Alberian Battle Royale (PvP king of the hill)

a. Interesting concept fun at first, but didn’t really kick off

4. Kaleidoscope

a. Great rewards got to utilize your character in a dungeon crawler feel but got repetitive and time consuming

5. Increase in daily rewards

a. Back then you get 3 for HDT and 3 for Agito, and now you get 5 of each

6. Revamp of the entire weapon and wyrmprint system

a. Back then it had to continuously sell duplicate cards to make space

b. Felt like an impossible task to max out all my weapons

c. Weapon bonus and shortage of oricalcum

7. Trial of the Mighty

a. Unlocking special mana spirals for Gala Characters and more

8. Legend content

a. Agito

b. Sinister Dominion

9. Moryasati

a. Quite the grind at first and tricky, but got easier as more characters got buffed

My biggest moment

1. Using Patia and joining a group that carried me to defeat Kai Yan and crafting my first Agito weapon and following Kai Yan > Ciella > Twins > Volk > Tartarus

2. Obtaining Megaman

3. Collab events Fire Emblem, Monster Hunter, Persona 5 Striker

4. First legend clear for Volk using cheese with bunny and then it got patched

5. First Karina cheese clear for Twins and almost everything else except Volk, but Mym cheese

6. First legend clear for Kai Yan

7. First SinDom clear

Wish list

1. Trading system among friend players or alliance members for dupe dragons or even for draconic essence to help newer players progress

2. Alliance features

a. Accumulate most number of resource

b. Accumulate most points from a kind of team ABR

i. Red vs blue

c. Donations

i. A pool for the alliance and a kind of leaderboard

ii. Request resource to give to other player kind of like PriCon

d. Mini games

i. Notte’s shoot’em up game but with your own dragons

e. Player gets to choose

i. Alliance Holdom defenders

ii. Allocate a hero kind of like sending them off in keldoscope but for the alliance and you can send only 1

3. Draconic essence for event dragons and remaining dragons

4. Mana spirals for all characters

5. Offline mode

Why I think things failed?

1. Monetization, maybe it was too F2P friendly and didn’t give “whales” enough op to spend to make it sustainable

2. Single player heavy at the end and games like Clash of Clans or Candy Crush bank heavily on revenge mechanic or social competitive to advance or assist one another is where people feel good to spend

3. The grind, and learning Curve – e.g. Monster Hunter pre-world, most of the time was spent preparing for the hunt, and it was rewarding but it was near the end to reap the rewards

4. Lack appeal to a wider audience due to a new IP

Regrets

1. Not finishing the DL Controller that I was hyped about

a. I got it working to play multiple account at once tested for solo cheese

2. Not being able to finish Legend content

a. Only did legend Kai Yan and Volk

3. Not being able to read through the story

a. Only did it for the rewards and was hoping to get back to it one day

4. Not being able to play enough co-op

a. Spent most of the time solo’ing all the content

Closing

Dragalia Lost brought a lot of memorable moments, and friendship. Thank you to the devs at CyGames and Nintendo for bringing this masterpiece of a mobile action RPG into my life. Thank you DL community for bringing top notch content for help players like myself. Good bye and wish you all the best!

Small Update

Hi everyone, thanks for checking out my videos.

I've been a bit behind on my video making schedule.  There has been a few events on this past weekend namely 20% off cash sale, the 3X event for SR and UR with a guarantee UR fighter, Izumi, a new dual element Fire and Earth fighter when you open 20 premium trucks with keys, and there's 20% off pvp energy sale.

I would like to make a video about that, but the events are over in less than 12 hours so not enough time.  I'm currently working on a training video to show you where to farm which element fighters and showing the amount of exp you get from using a training boost similar to my nemesis videos.

I'm currently working on training my R fighters as it's now possible to get R to Golden SR and SR to Golden UR, and UR to Legendaries.  I currently have over almost 400 fighters over my limit so I cannot show videos for opening premium trucks because I have enough fighters to start training with.

Have fun, and I'll see you next time.

Rage of the Immortals Changes from 1.10 to 1.11

Here are some of the changes that I noticed when I updated the game from 1.10 to 1.11 includes the following:

Fighters can now be sold for coins.  If you go to the fighter screen from the menu, there's a "sell fighters" button at the top beside the "heist" button.  You can select the fighter you want to sell and get coins back from it.  It's a nice effort to find another way to get rid of your fighters but in the mean time it doesn't feel like it's worth it as mentioned by a few players.  I believe if we can sell the fighters for at least the price of a pub building i.e. 30,000 coins it might be worth it.

They also added a social feature using Facebook friends.  Even though Facebook was introduced in the previous version of the game in order to earn a Rare Fighter Thunder Fist, they've added the ability to gift energy to your friends.  I haven't hooked up my facebook yet, but I think along the lines of Farmville where you ask for help and they give you energy.  It would be nice if both the person who is giving and the person receiving both get a reward, so it'll give more incentive.

PvP recently got some changes too.  I noticed that my 5th opponent reward has been the training booster fairly frequently.  It's great because I would only spent my cash to win if it was the training boost because I don't have much space in my fighter slots so this would help me level up some fighters.  Also, the 5th opponent now gives 1000 pvp points instead of 500 pvp points, so you can rank up in the leaderboard faster, and the pvp leaderboard rewards have been very attractive i.e. 8 SRs if you're in top 10.

One of the most awesome things in this new update is they increase the number of fighter slots, so I am able to free up some space to start training again in PvE.

They added a builder system, where Sylvia can only build/upgrade 2 buildings at the same time instead no limit.

This update also changes a few layouts in the epic boss screen.  I also noticed they improved they way the fighters are sorted in the training and fusion screens, so the maxed fighters don't show up at the top.

Rene commented on my video that PvE Energy recharges at 30 seconds instead of 20 seconds, which is 50% longer.

And lastly, clouds are more transparent, so you can see through them easier compared to the previous version, so you can see that there's going to be more levels to come after the resort stage in a future update.

And for those of you who missed my video, here it is:

Rage of the Immortals Wiki & YouTube

Recently, I've been fairly active on the Rage of the Immortals wiki.  It has many invaluable information including stats on the different fighters, where to find these fighters, friend codes, and many discussions.  There also a lot of active members who play the game who will answer your questions.

In addition, there's also my youtube channel where I try to make weekly videos about the game.  I noticed that there's been some interest in my videos regarding opening trucks to determine what fighters comes out.  Hence, I'll be making a video of over 100 my Rare Truck keys being used very soon. Stay tuned for some new updates.

Rage of the Immortals Nemesis

Most of you who plays Rage of the Immortals knows that every week there's a Epic Boss Fighter and there's a Nemesis fighter who the Epic Boss is weak against.  This fighter will be 3X more effective towards the Epic boss where there's a bonus in the defence and attack.  Unfortunately, after a new epic boss is rolled out, it becomes useless.

However, I just discovered that when you train that nemesis back into the epic boss.  There's a bonus exp boost, very similar to the training boost.  I created a video to do a comparison.  I hope that helps.

As a summary, don't waste your nemesis into a Rare fighter of the same element because you'll miss out a huge amount of bonus exp.

Rage of the Immortals Epic Boss Kenta

My first impression of Kenta is that he is E. Honda from Street Fighter with Yakuza Tattoos and a beard.  E. Honda is one of my favourite characters in Street Fighter 4 because he's a tank and he does a lot of damage.  The other Sumo wrestler in Rage of the Immortals is Akito, and he's an Earth Common Fighter so he's pretty weak.  Kenta is Lightning element.

Anyway, I decided to make a 3 part video of my Kaya party fighting the epic boss from level 1 all the way to level 60.

Here's Part 1 and stay tuned for other 2.

Rage of the Immortals Update 1.9 to 1.10 Improvements

I decided to make a video to show the changes that I noticed when I upgrade my version of the game from 1.9 to 1.10.

Here are some of the things that I noticed that I missed in the video:

1. PvP all in cost less for the first 3 waves
i.e. instead of wave 1 "all out attack" of 6

Wave | Normal | All out Attack (1.9) | all out attack (1.10)
1 | 1 | 6 | 2
2 | 2 | 6 | 4
3 | 3 | 7 | 6
4 | 4 | 8 | 8
5 | 5 | 10 | 10

2. There's 2 new ways to invite your friends to join using Facebook which you can get a R fighter
"The Thunder Fist"
HP: 100
ATK: 114
DEF: 149
SPD : 86
INF COST : 9

So there's a facebook button and a SMS button added to the friends page

3.  Many screens now have a "?" button to go to the FAQ at the top corner

Also I noticed that there's an iOS version and the friend code on Android works for the people who is on iOS to add.

Rage of Immortal is official and some info about fusing

I just noticed GREE has been promoting their new game Rage of the Immortals and was Top Grossing ranked 132 this morning.  I've been playing it since beta for the past 2 months.  There has been a lot of tweaks, and the game seems a lot more balanced than it was before and a lot more stable.  From 1.8 to 1.9, they've added at least 6 new characters that I found, and the stages so progression is a bit easier, and a lot of R+/SR+/UR+ got a huge buff.  It seems like they are promoting fighters to be fused properly than getting a strong fighter i.e. properly fused and trained level 40 R++ is as strong as a level 60 UR+.  I noticed they nerf the epic boss and farming is a lot harder in the latest version i.e. subterranean village is no longer gives you 4 UC, you get 2 UC.  If you're not aware of the fusing system, it takes 2 fighters and combine it into one with stat boost.  It works much like the evolve system in puzzles and dragons or brave frontier.  However, you don't need to fully upgrade/train both identical fighters to max level to do so, and when you fuse them it seems to take the average of the two fighters, and add ~50 points to every attribute, and resets your level back to level one similar to a new game+.  In addition, for certain fighters with dual element i.e. shadow and earth like Sicarius the epic boss last month.  You only unlock the second element when you fuse it to R++.  You can achieve a R++ two ways, you can fuse 3 Rs or 4 Rs i.e. first way (R fuse with R to R+) and (R+ fuse with R to R++), however, the proper way is to max your Rs to level 40, and (R fuse with R to R+ and repeat) and (R+ fuse with R+ to get R++).  The reason I say it's the proper way is because when you take a fully trained level 40 R+ with a R the average is lower, so taking two full upgraded level 40 R+ will give you the highest stats.

Rage of the Immortals seems fun.

I've been recently pretty addicted to a GREE Free to play game called Rage of the Immortals.  I noticed the name of the game has been constantly changing.  When I first played at launch, it was called "War of Rivals", then they updated the title to "Elements of Fury", then "Fighting Fury", then "Infinity Fighter" and now "Rage of the Immortals".  I was super lucky when I used my 20 cash (the in game currency) and got an Ultra Rare card i.e. Nia.  Originally, she was one of the strongest card in the game, but now there are even more powerful ones.  At the beginning, the game started very easy, and then they made it too challenging.  I like the art style because it references a lot of my favorite fighting games such as King of Fighter, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, and more.  The strategy of the game in order to progress is to "train" your strongest fighter (card) and "fuse" them with itself and start over when both of them are maxed.  Each card has an element which is similar to a Rock Paper Scissors mechanism i.e. Water > Fire > Shadow? > Earth > Lightning > Water...  The developer IUGO and GREE has been continuously balancing the game, and improving it.  It's very similar to another game they launched over a year ago called Knights & Dragons, which was one of the top grossing GREE published games on both Android and iOS.  I like how in Knights, you have guilds and be able to work together to win rewards, and pvp has different tiers of rewards so that you can use those rewards to progress through the game.  Hopefully, they also bring this feature to Rage of the Immortals, and be able to earn some awesome rewards.

I AM MT is now Wrath Of Ator

I noticed today there was an update to I AM MT iOS Trading card game.  From a quick glace, I noticed it look better now on the 4" retina display on my iPod Touch 5.  In the notes, they've added Synergy, which when specific cards are paired together there is an extra boost.

For example,
Tyran, The President and Lady -> gets a Toughness boost called "A Good Idea".
Lady, The President and The Bald man -> gets a boost call Plate Alliance,
Lady and Mage -> gets a tougness boost called Free Bread.

Some Hero's don't have synergy such as Issac, Kevin, Kraak'thar, Transientus, so I'm not sure if it's worth keeping them.

Synergy would be good for pvp in the arena for that extra boost mainly.

Also I noticed for our daily reward we get a potion to recover your AP, which is nice because usually during events such as the Pumpkin Patch, I usually use it up very quickly.

Some of the card art has changed as well.

I'm going to get back to this card game.  Have fun.

MT Daily Rewards

I realize the MT Daily Login Rewards are as follows:

50 Runes

88,888 Coins

Surprise reward (usually a Pumpkin or a Sun Flower)

Also note when you reach level 35 you can go to the Arena, and you can get awards even if you lose.

Each day you get a total of 5 Attempts, and you can refill your 5 attempt once with 100 runes.  I would recommend engaging in battles even if your heroes are too weak with the purchase of the extra attempts because one of the rewards include 180 runes if you get 6 points, so by spending 100 runes you get 180 in return. At 7 points you get 75k of coins, and at 8, you can get a puzzle piece for a 5-star purple card, and so it's highly recommended to use up your 10 attempts and 50 runes when you use 10.

There are 4 arenas base of the card white, green, blue and purple.  If you want to win these battles, make sure your heroes are upgraded to the max.  I've been mainly focused on white and have fully upgraded and max skills on all my heroes.  My team consist of 2 mages, 1 tank, 2 healers.  As for the other ranks you can find some green cards that can be upgraded to the +, and you can use those to your advantage.  As for the blue cards, you can upgrade them until they are +maxed.  I've never competed in the purple ranked matches because I haven't upgraded or got a purple card yet.

Some cards can evolve and other cards can't.  Usually the main character heroes such as MT, Druid, Shaman, and his friends and rivals Rouge, Tyran, and more can upgrade to purple, which is believe to be the max level.

The order goes like this:

White -> Green -> Blue -> Blue+ -> Blue+ 1 -> Blue + 2 -> Blue +MAX -> Purple -> Purple+

To find out which heroes be evolve and to what form, you can go to the tab More-> Gallery and you can see the evolution of each character.

Some cards only go up Green+ instead of blue.

When you fuse cards try to pick another card that has the same Initiative Skill, as that skill can be upgrade to level 6.  Please note when you evolve the card, you don't get to keep the skill level, and you have to start over again.

Some abilities have a + on them, what that means is not only is it slight stronger, but it also gets performed on their first stage action during battle.

I'll keep you posted.  Thanks for reading.

Woot! First post!

Welcome to my blog about games in general.  For my first few articles I will go through some games I really enjoy on the iOS.  I will be writing a guide in certain games that I can't find enough information.  My first game that I would like to share is I AM MT.

I AM MT is a Free-to-play iOS Trading Card Game. I AM MT is based off a popular cartoon I AM MT about World of Warcraft.  You can probably find youtube videos with english subs.  You have hero cards that you can use to complete quests in dungeons.  Each day, you get awarded 50 Runes, which is the in game currency, 1 exp fusion boost card i.e. the 4-star SunFlower or 5-star Pumpkin and some gold (I forgot the exact amount but I think it's 30,000 Gold).

Similar to most freemium games such as Clash of the Clan, Simpsons Tapped Out, and  Knights & Dragons, you can spend time or real money to progress through the game.  You have action points, AP,  which you consume to complete quests.  These AP recovers 1 AP per every 5 minutes.  You have level for your account, and levels for each card.  Base on the account level you unlock different features.

You start off selecting your class MT (warrior class, like tank, which has the most health and weak on damage), Driud (healer) , Shaman (mage, high damage weak on health).  My first impression was I wonder who to pick.  It turns out once your start the game there are daily event dungeons (Order of  Light and Backstab squad) which you can get the other 2 and even more special heroes.  You start by going through the tutorial and learn that in order to level up your card you need to fuse other cards into them, so they give you the SunFlower (10, 000 exp) card and fuses it into MT or whatever card you chose at the beginning.  Once he reaches his max level 25, then the tutorial shows you how to evolve him using equipment card that you collected along the way.

Once you reached level 15, you unlock the x2 button, which makes the battles a lot quicker.
Once you reached level 30, you unlock the Academy, which allows you assign a new random leader skill.  You get 2 free ones daily, and it cost 20 Runes for additional tries.
Once you reached level 35, you unlock the Arena, which is a great way to earn some extra Runes, and cards.

Before you begin, you start your quests in the dungeons, make sure you have your 5 cards selected.  1 additional card will appear before you enter the quest, that is either from your friend or a random guest, which you can invite as your friend.  One thing to note is you sometimes rely on the extra friend card in order to complete your dungeons easier.  Also there's a perk when using them and completing the quest.  You earn FP, friend points (5FP for non-friend, 10FP for friend which is displayed in green), which you can use in the shop to exchange (100FP) for an additional card that you can earn in the event dungeons or invite.

So if you need a friend, my Friend code: 100191863, and at the time of this post I have a level 60 Tyran, and I'm level 38.  When you share your friend code you get a 4-star Blood Elf Mage, which is apparently only available through friend invites.

There are 3 dungeons: Normal, Elite, and Events.  Each dungeon cost AP, action points.

Normal dungeons consumes 6AP
Elite dungeons consumes 12 AP, with the chance of getting equipment cards for evolving your 3-star heroes.

Events dungeons: consumes 10-120AP
Each day there is a different dungeon opened for a duration of time: 12 hours to 2 days.
I've played I AM MT for about 2 weeks, so far I've seen the following dungeons:

Pumpkin Patch with 3 different tiers: Normal cost 15AP, Elite cost 30 AP, and Heroic 50AP.
- This is very useful when you want to level up your hero card because you can get 4-star sunflower (10,000 exp) and/or 5-star pumpkin (30,000 exp) cards.

Golden Dragon: same as above except you get Golden dragon cards instead of sunflowers and pumpkins which you can use to sell for gold.

Lair of the Bronze Dragon: cost 120 AP, I've never beated this because my cards are too weak.

One thing to note is that when you lose in a dungeon, it does not cost AP.

I'm going to stop here, and I'll add more information in other blog posts.  Feel free to ask questions, or correct me if there are any mistakes, or post your friend code.

Thanks for reading.
